Denver - The University of Denver announced today a partnership with Mile High Sports Radio to broadcast the 2012-13 men's basketball season on AM 1510 and FM 93.7. The agreement, which continues the multi-year relationship between the Pioneers and the radio network, also includes post-season basketball broadcasts and select women's basketball contests.

"We have such an appreciation for what Mile High Sports does for the Denver radio market," says University of Denver Director of Athletics Peg Bradley-Doppes. "Their multi-platform format speaks directly to Pioneer fans who have been in the Rocky Mountain area for so many years and truly know our rich sports history."

"We're thrilled to once again be a partner of University of Denver basketball," said Mile High Sports Radio president James Merilatt. "We've built a great relationship with the program over the years and look forward to more great things to come. Coach Scott is building a great winning tradition at DU, and he's doing it the right way. It's an honor to be a part of it, and we're excited for the upcoming season."

In addition to the game broadcasts, AM 1510 and FM 93.7 will also be home to the weekly "Joe Scott Denver Basketball Coaches Show."  DU fans can tune in Mondays from 7:00-8:00 p.m. for the show which takes place from the Pioneer Restaurant. Coach Scott will offer an inside look at the men's team and answer questions from callers and the live audience members assembled. The Pioneer Restaurant is located on the south side of the DU campus at 2401 South University Blvd. Fans can also catch Coach Scott as a guest on the various sports call-in programs broadcast throughout the day on AM 1510 and FM 93.7.

"Having a consistent broadcast home is critical to the further advancement of our basketball program," says DU Men's Basketball Coach Joe Scott. "With this continued relationship, we are providing our followers a reliable place on the dial to find DU hoops, which will certainly allow our fan base to grow."

Radio and television veteran Mitch Hyder will serve as the play-by-play talent and host for the Pioneer game broadcasts and coaches show. Hyder is entering his 14th year with the Denver program as the voice for various athletic events.

Mile High Sports is Colorado's only multi-platform sports media company, with products that include the Mile High Sports Magazine, Mile High Sports Daily, Mile High Sports Online and Mile High Sports TV in addition to its radio network.

The University of Denver men's basketball team is facing its most challenging schedule in the team's NCAA Division I history in 2012-13. The Pioneers slate features several games against top-ranked athletic and academic institutions, highlighted by a home game against Cal (Nov. 16) and a road meeting with Stanford (Dec. 2), both of which are expected to compete for the Pac-12 championship this season.

The home schedule also features marquee games against Mountain West Conference rival Colorado State (Nov. 21), and Western Athletic Conference rivals Utah State (Jan. 19) and New Mexico State (March 2). The road slate includes challenging trips to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's Iona (Nov. 9), Conference USA's Southern Mississippi (Nov. 27), and the Mountain West's Wyoming (Dec. 18).

Based on last season's final rankings, the average RPI of Denver's 2012-13 nonconference opponents was 107, an increase from the 145 pre-season average of last year's nonconference opponents.
