DU Hockey to Play Two Nationally-Televised Games in 2013-14

DENVER – The University of Denver ice hockey team will play a pair of nationally-televised home games in 2013-14, according to the inaugural National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Television Schedule, which was announced by league officials today.  

The Pioneers’ first nationally-televised contest will take place on Friday, Jan. 24 when they play host to North Dakota at Magness Arena.  Denver’s second CBS Sports Network nationally-televised game will feature a showdown with intra-state rival Colorado College on Friday, Feb. 21, also at Magness Arena.

The complete NCHC television schedule features a total of 18 games that will be nationally-televised on CBS Sports Network, including 15 regular-season contests along with the NCHC Conference Semifinals and Championship.

“We are excited about our partnership with CBS Sports Network. The NCHC is committed to showcasing our conference nationally and the relationship with CBS Sports Network helps us accomplish this goal,” said NCHC Commissioner, Josh Fenton.

The CBS Sports Network schedule kicks off with the first ever NCHC conference games with a double-header on Friday, Oct. 18th when North Dakota visits Miami, followed by Minnesota Duluth at Colorado College – puck drop times are to be determined.

The NCHC includes member institutions Colorado College, Denver, Miami, Minnesota Duluth, Nebraska Omaha, North Dakota, St. Cloud State, and Western Michigan.
