2011-12: Played 10 games • recorded 13 points on four goals and nine assists • scored a power-play goal in 3-3 overtime tie vs. Nebraska Omaha (11/19) • recorded five points (2g, 3a) in a four-game point streak from Nov. 12-25 • missed 33 games with a wrist injury • was named to the All-WCHA Academic Team • committed seven penalties for 25 PIMs • signed a professional contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League on April 13, finishing his DU career with 38 points on 13 goals and 25 assists in 47 games.

2010-11: Played 37 games • tallied 25 points on nine goals and 16 assists • added one power-play goal and game-winning goal in 3-2 win against Alaska Anchorage (1/21) • recorded four multi-point games • tallied career-best two points against Bemidji State (11/19), Lake Superior State (11/26), Minnesota State (1/15) and Alaska Anchorage (1/22) • tallied six assists during six-game point streak (3/4-19) • added 98 hits and 15 blocked shots • missed five games with a right knee injury (12/4-1/1) • committed nine penalties for 18 PIMs.

Before Denver: Played for the Penticton Vees of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in 2009-10 • tied for the BCHL scoring lead with 120 points on 41 goals and 79 assists in 56 games • ranked second in the BCHL with 25 power-play goals and added eight game-winning goals • named Interior Conference Rookie of the Year after helping the Vees to a 48-8 second-place record • tallied nine four-point games and a five-point effort during the regular season added 14 points on five goals and nine assists in 15 playoff games • became the first BCHL rookie to record 100+ points in seven years • selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round (20th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft
