A message from Vice-Chancellor of Athletics and Recreation and Ritchie Center Operations Peg Bradley-Doppes The University of Denver has a rich tradition of competitive and academic excellence. Our student-athletes graduated at a 93 percent success rate for the last four years, which is 14 percent higher than the national rate of 79 percent for Division I institutions. On the playing field, the Pioneers were the top ranking school among all I-AAA, Front Range and Sun Belt Conference schools for the fourth consecutive year in 2011. Annual Fund
The University of Denver Athletics Annual Fund was established to support scholarships for student-athletes. In 2010, DU awarded scholarships to 256 student-athletes in all 17 sports for a total of $7.9 million dollars, which covered costs such as tuition and fees, books, and room and board. Every gift you make to Pioneer Athletics goes toward this vital scholarship fund and directly benefits our student-athletes.

Major Gifts
Major gifts fund the greatest priorities of the University of Denver Division of Athletics and Recreation. Gifts of this magnitude provide resources for athletics and educational excellence, which sustain the growth and momentum of DU’s proud and historic athletics program. An individual may decide to make a gift of either current use funds or endowed funds. Current use gifts are one-time funds that immediately benefit the designated program or purpose. Endowed funds, on the other hand, provide both immediate and long-lasting benefits to the purpose designated by the donor. These self-sustaining funds are of great importance to the University because they generate predictable, growing streams of income in perpetuity. Major gifts may be designated for the Division of Athletics and Recreation or sport program of greatest interest to the donor.
