The Crimson and Gold doubles tandems of Steffi Rath (Hochst, Austria) and Sophia Bergner (Schechen, Germany), Elena Najera (San Diego, Calif.) and Emma Isberg (Tyreso, Sweden) and Natalie Dunn (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Caroline Schnell (Greenwood Village, Colo.) each recorded wins.
Rath and Bergner beat Marlena and Manuela Pietzuch 9-8(6) at No. 1 doubles. Najera and Isberg beat Morgan Basil and Sandy Vo 8-4 at No. 2, while Schnell and Dunn defeated Kaitlyn Brown and Sonia Klamczynska 9-8(3) at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Bergner beat Klamczynska 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 and Najera beat Manuela Pietzuch 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3. Schnell ousted Vo 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4 and Isberg beat Basil 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5. Rath blanked Brown 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
The Pioneers host UTEP on Friday, Jan. 27. First serve is set for 7 p.m. MT at CAC-Monaco.
