NEW ORLEANS - The University of Denver swept the Sun Belt Conference Tennis Player of the Week awards, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Senior Yannick Weihs (Guntramsdorf, Austria) was named the men's player of the week, while junior Sophia Bergner (Schechen, Germany) was named the women's player of the week.

Weihs' week was highlighted by a 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 win over No. 81 Jadon Phillips of New Mexico in DU's 4-3 win over the Lobos. Weihs added a 1-1 record in doubles, including a 7-6 win over BYU's Keaton Cullimore and Michael Eraso for lone win in a 7-0 loss to the Cougars.

Bergner guided DU to a pair of wins with her stellar play at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. She improved to 9-2 in in singles with wins over Melissa Cecil (Air Force) and Kristina Schleich (Colorado). Bergner added doubles wins over Air Force and Colorado. Denver (8-3) has won three consecutive matches.
