Senior Sophia Bergner (Schechen, Germany) went 1-1 in the singles Orange Draw. Bergner rebounded from a quarterfinal loss to SMU's Aleksandra Malyarchikova to beat Texas' Juliana Gajic 6-3, 6-1 in the consolation bracket. Caroline Schnell (Greenwood Village, Colo.) added a 1-1 record in Orange Draw consolation action.
Seniors Emma Isberg (Tyreso, Sweden) and Steffi Rath (Hochst, Austria) and sophomore Michelle Garpenlov (Tyreso, Sweden) each posted singles wins in consolation action. Sophomore transfer Mandy van den Eerenbeemt (Best, The Netherlands) also competed in singles today for the Pioneers.
Action concludes Sunday at the Longhorn Invitational.
