DENVER -University of Denver senior Sophia Bergner (Schechen, Germany) was eliminated in the pre-qualifying singles round today at the 2012 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championship at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Bergner was defeated by Oklahoma State's CC Sardinha 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4 in the round of 64.

Bergner returns to action at the All-American, competing in the qualifying doubles draw with senior Steffi Rath (Hochst, Austria) against Texas A&M's Wen Sun and Nazari Urbina on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Bergner and Rath posted an 11-9 doubles record en route to All-Sun Belt Confeence honors last season.
