DENVER - The University of Denver's men's tennis team won five of their final seven matches to finish the Key Biscayne Invitational at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park.
The Pioneers continued playing tough singles winning three of four matches against LSU. Senior Enej Bonin (Koper, Slovenia) defeated LSU's Chris Simpson 6-2, 6-3. Jens Vorkefeld (Ostercappeln, Germany) beat Tam Trinh 6-2, 6-2. Henry Craig continued playing consistent tennis beating Boris Arias 6-3, 6-3.
In Doubles, DU won two of three matches against the Michigan Wolverines. Max Krammer (Perchtoldsdorf, Austria) and Bonin took down Michigan's Alex Buzzi and Evan King 8-6, and Craig and Vorkefeld partnered up to defeat Alex Petrone and Michael Zhu of Michigan 8-5.
The Pioneers will return to the court at the ITA National Indoor Kick-Off on Jan. 26 against Pepperdine.
