Denver - University of Denver's Sophia Bergner (Schechen, Germany) has been selected as the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the second straight voting period, officials announced today.

Bergner is coming off of a 6-0, 6-0 singles victory and an 8-2 doubles victory with partner Steffi Rath (Hochst, Austria) over Louisiana-Lafayette. The Pioneers blanked the visiting Ragin' Cajuns 7-0.

The Pioneers next match takes place Friday, Feb. 1 at Kansas, followed by a match at Wichita State Sunday, Feb. 3.
