Senior Steffi Rath named WAC Player of the Week for the second consecutive voting period

Denver- University of Denver women's tennis senior Steffi Rath (Höchst, Austria) earned her second consecutive Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week honor, conference officials announced Monday.

Rath went four for four over the weekend, winning both of her doubles and singles matches. In doubles, Rath and her partner Sophia Bergner (Schechen, Germany) beat BYU's Meghan Sheehan-Dizon and Morgan Anderson 8-4 and Oregon's Patricia Skowronski and Nicole Long 8-5. She also extended her singles winning streak to six after defeating BYU's Aubrey Paul 6-3, 6-0 and Oregon's Rabea Stueckemann 6-7 (1), 6-3, (10-7).

Rath and the Pioneers return to the court Thursday, March 21 when they travel to University of Texas- Arlington. The match starts at 3 p.m. (MT).
