SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of Denver men's tennis team was defeated by No. 38 San Diego 4-0 on the second day of the Hilton San Diego Mission Valley Spring Classic.

The Pioneers were unable to claim the first point falling in two of three doubles matches. Freshman Henry Craig (Murrieta, Calif.) and sophomore Luke Manley (Edmonton, Alberta) defeated USD's Ciaran Fitzgerald and Victor Pugliese 9-7 to pick up Denver's only doubles victory.

In singles, senior Enej Bonin (Koper, Slovenia) ended his match with Thibaut Visy in a 6-6 deadlock. Senior Jens Vorkefeld (Ostercappeln, Germany) also did not finish his match. He trailed Romain Kalaydijian 5-7, 3-2 in No. 2 singles. Redshirt senior Max Krammer (Perchtoldsdorf, Austria) lead Uros Petronijevoc 6-2, 4-1 before his match was halted.

The Pioneers will face University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) Saturday, March 23 on day three of the classic.
