DENVER- The University of Denver women’s tennis team is ranked No. 59 in the latest ITA poll, which was released Tuesday, April 16.  North Carolina holds the No. 1 ranking, followed by Florida at No. 2 and Georgia is No. 3.  

The Pioneers defeated Utah State 6-1 on Saturday and New Mexico State 7-0 on Sunday to win the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) regular season title with an 8-0 record.  The wins also put the Pioneers at 15-3 overall.

The Pioneers battle No. 53 Utah on Friday, April 19 in their final regular season match. Friday’s match is also Senior Day. Pioneer seniors Sophia Bergner (Schechen, Germany), Emma Isberg (Tyreso, Sweden) and Steffi Rath (Hochst, Austria) will be honored before the match, which begins at 12 p.m. (MT) at Gates Tennis Center.
