DENVER – University of Denver freshman Henry Craig (Murrieta, Calif.) was named Intercollegiate Tennis Associate (ITA) Mountain Region Rookie of the Year, officials announced Wednesday.

Craig finished his rookie season with a 15-10 singles record, including an impressive 8-2 record at the No. 4 singles slot.

"We are very proud of Henry's first year and this is a great honor for him.”  Head Coach Danny Westerman said.

Craig went undefeated in Western Athletic Conference (WAC) singles play and carried a four-match win streak into the WAC Championship against Idaho.  The freshman also posted a 12-11 overall doubles record.

“He is very hungry and he is only scratching the surface of his talent.”  Westerman said. “With some hard work and dedication, I can see him becoming one of the best college players in the country."
