Pioneers Set to Compete at ITA Mountain Regionals

DENVER – The University of Denver men’s tennis team travels to Las Vegas, Nev., on Wednesday, October 16 to compete in the USTA/ITA Mountain Regional Championships at The Amanda & Stacy Darling Memorial Tennis Center.

Competing for Denver in the singles draw will be senior Alex Clinkenbeard (Loveland, Colo.), sophomore Henry Craig (Murrieta, Calif.) and freshmen Alex Gasson (Alton, United Kingdom), Eric Marbach (Naperville, Ill.), William Ro (Englewood, Colo.) and Aidan Talcott (Sea Cliff, N.Y.). Senior Fabio Biasion (Velbert, Germany) will join Marbach in doubles along with pairs Craig/Gasson and Clinkenbeard/Talcott.

After two weeks off, the men are ready to return to action. The Pioneers last competed at the ITA All-American Championships September 28 - October 1. Craig and Gasson posted the best singles performances for the Pioneers, with Gasson making it to the third round of the prequalifiers and Craig advancing to the final round of the prequalifiers.  

The USTA/ITA Regional Championships feature some of the top men's and women's players across the country. Over 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete at one of the 84 USTA/ITA Regional Championships held across the nation.
