Career: Saw action in 53 games for the Pioneers over his four-year career • recorded 34 goals and 16 assists for a total of 50 points • finished with a career 53.4 shot on goal percentage • recorded three game-winning goals and nine man-up goals • grabbed 32 groundballs and caused three turnovers • ranks seventh all-time in DU's Division I career record books for man-up goals and is tied for sixth in game-winning goals • member of the first class to host a first round game of the NCAA Tournament west of the Mississippi river • member of the first class to make a Final Four appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

2011: Played in 14 games and started eight • suffered a broken jaw mid-way through the season • tallied 10 goals and six assists for a total of 16 points • made a total of 46 shots for a 50.0 shots on goal percentage • recorded one game-winning goal and four man-up goals • grabbed nine groundballs • scored two goals and recorded one assist against Air Force (03/26/11) to tie his career-high in points • had a goal in the second round game of the NCAA Tournament against Johns Hopkins (05/21/11).

2010: Started all 17 games • scored 12 goals and recorded five assists for 17 points • finished with a 52.5 shot-on-goal percentage • scored one game-winning goal and five man-up goals • grabbed 14 ground balls and caused two turnovers • recorded a career-high three points against Hobart (04/03/10) on two goals and one assist • grabbed a career-high four ground balls twice • finished the season ranked ninth in the ECAC in man-up goals (.31).

2009: Saw action in all 15 games, and made two starts • scored 15 points on 11 goals and four assists • placed 20-of-33 shots on goal • recorded nine ground balls and one caused turnover • scored one game-winning goal • had four multiple-goal games and six multiple-point games • tallied two assists against Stony Brook (3/21/09).

2008: Appeared in seven games • recorded a goal against Colgate (2/16/08) and an assist against Air Force (4/26/08) for two points on the season • placed 4-of-8 shots on goal.

Before Denver: First-team all-state midfielder for Denver East H.S. in 2007 • selected as one of the Rocky Mountain News' 10 players to watch for 2007 • named Denver Athletic Club Athlete of the Year in 2007 • was the leading junior scorer for Denver East's state runner-up team in 2006 • a four-year letterman at Denver East.

Personal: Born April 28, 1989, in Denver • son of John and Carol Lay • has one brother, Jonathan • was an honor roll student and member of National Honor Society in high school • served as East H.S. student council treasurer twice • chose Denver over Hobart and the University of Delaware because of the great location and lacrosse team • enjoys skiing, fishing, hunting, biking, golf and travel • marketing major.
