DENVER - Freshman goaltender Adam Murray (Anchorage, Alaska) makes his first career WCHA start tonight as No. 2/3 Denver looks for its fourth consecutive win tonight against Minnesota State.
Murray earned his first career win in relief of National Player of the Week Marc Cheverie (Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia) in last night's 4-3 win. Cheverie suffered a deep cut in his left calf in the third period after he set the DU all-time shutout minutes streak at 223:51. Cheverie needed 30 stitches at Porter Hospital to repair the wound and is expected to miss a few weeks of action. His text to me today read - "pretty sore, the skate went though my calf muscle, 30 stitches I think all together." Here's to a speedy and healthy recovery Chevy.
