2008-09: Started all 40 games and posted a 23-12-5 record with a 2.34 goals against average, .921 saves percentage and four shutouts • named to the All-WCHA Second Team after ranking first in saves percentage (.918), second in minutes (1,671:12) and winning percentage (.643), and third in goals against average (2.41) in league games • ranked second in the WCHA in goals against average, saves percentage and winning percentage (.638), and third in minutes for all games • posted a career-high 45 saves in 5-0 shutout win at Wisconsin on Feb. 21 • added shutouts against Minnesota (11/22), Michigan Tech (12/5) and Wisconsin (3/20) • made 23 or more saves in 32 games • recipient of "Star of the Year"Award from Denver media and Bill Masterton Memorial Award for Denver's Most Valuable Player • named AHCA National Player of the Month for December • earned three Red Baron WCHA Defensive Player of the Week honors • named to the All-WCHA Academic Team • earned WCHA Scholar-Athlete status for achieving a 3.5 GPA or better • named a "Player to Watch" on College Hockey News Preseason All-America Team.

2007-08: Played in five of 41 games • posted a 1-0-0 record with a 1.70 goals against average and .925 saves percentage • won his first collegiate game in first start with 26 saves against Bemidji State (1/19) • made collegiate debut against Alaska Anchorage (12/15) • stopped all 15 shots in relief of Peter Mannino in 3-1 loss at Colorado College (3/8).

Before Denver: Recorded a 20-9-2 record, including three shutouts, with a 3.10 goals against average and .875 saves percentage in 34 games for Coastal Conference champion Nanaimo of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in 2006-07 • added a 2-1 record, including two shutouts, with a 2.15 GAA and .885 Sv% in five games to help Nanaimo to the Fred Page Cup title as BCHL champions • posted a 23-9 record, including four shutouts, with a 2.54 GAA and .902 Sv% in 36 games for Island Division champion Nanaimo in 2005-06 • earned Saskatchewan Midget Hockey League MVP honors in 2004-05.

Personal: Son of Don and Anne Cheverie • younger brother of Ryan (31), Evan (29) and Luke (26) • graduated high school from Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (Wilcox, Saskatchewan) in 2005 • honor roll member in high school • participated in the Relay for Life program to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society • chose Denver for its hockey program and strong academics • career goals are to win an NCAA National Championship at Denver and play in the NHL • enjoys golf, swimming and weightlifting • favorite athletes are J.S. Giguere, Robert Luongo, Martin Brodeur and Tiger Woods • finance major • selected by Florida in the seventh round (193rd overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft • born February 22, 1987.
