Katie Hooker, formerly Katie Antongiovanni, enters her sixth season as an assistant coach with the Pioneers in 2009.
After a record-setting collegiate career at Denver and IowaState, Antongiovanni was drafted by the Atlanta Beat of the Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA) before being traded to the San Jose Cyber Rays in 2003.
Antongiovanni brings her skills and experience back to the Pioneers. She received numerous awards and honors during her collegiate career. In 2001, Antongiovanni received SBC Newcomer of the Year, Soccer Buzz All-America Honorable Mention, NSCAA All-Central Second Team, All-SBC First Team and All-SBC Tournament Team. In 2002, she shined again, receiving the 2002 SBC Most Outstanding Player award, and was named to the All-SBC First Team and Tournament Team, and NSCAA All-Central Region First Team.
At IowaState she was named Big 12 Rookie of the Year in 1999 along with Second-Team All-Big 12 and all-conference tournament team. In 2000, Antongiovanni was named First-Team All-Big 12 and First-Team All-Academic Big 12.
