DENVER — Four distinguished individuals and the 1954 football team will be inducted to the University of Denver Athletic Hall of Fame's Class of 2007. The 11th annual celebration for the Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2007, at the Marriott City Center in downtown Denver.

With these additions, the Athletic Hall of Fame now includes 101 individuals and five distinguished DU teams. The full list of 2007 inductees is below, with brief biographical sketches following:

Ken Jastrow
Football, basketball, baseball
1946-48
Ken Jastrow was a rare three-sport athlete in the late 1940’s, playing three years on the basketball and baseball teams and one season for the football squad. A two-time All-Skyline Conference selection in both basketball and baseball, Jastrow finished third on the basketball team in scoring in 1947 and 1948 and was team captain in the 47-48 season.
MODERN ERA INDUCTEE
Soteris Kefalas
Soccer
1981-84
Soteris Kefalas is perhaps the greatest soccer player in DU history, ending his career with school records of 104 goals, 230 points, and single-season records of 47 goals and 105 points in 1983, when he was named a second-team NAIA All-American. He was named to the All-Rocky Mountain Soccer Team from 1981-83 and led the Pioneers to the school’s first national tournament berth in 1983.
WOMEN'S INDUCTEE
Narcisa Sehovic
Skiing
1993-96
One of the best skiers of DU’s modern era, Narcisa Sehovic was a six-time All-American, earning two each from 1994-96 and winning the first women’s slalom national title in school history in 1995. She was the first female All-American in the combined (alpine and nordic) NCAA Championships and was selected the DU Female Student-Athlete of the Year in 1995.

Kathy Stacey
Gymnastics
1974-81
Kathy Stacey started the DU gymnastics team from the ground up in 1974 and it has since become one of DU’s most successful women’s programs. She began the program with no scholarship athletes and in just four years, helped lead DU to a fourth-place finish at the first-ever AIAW Small College Championships. By 1979 DU was a Division II national power and Stacey was instrumental in laying the groundwork for DU’s future successes.
TEAM INDUCTEE
1954 Football Team
The 1954 football team is widely considered the greatest in DU history, as it captured the 1954 Skyline Conference Championship with a 9-1 record, the final championship in school history and first since 1917. DU ‘s 9-1 mark is the best 10-game mark ever and tied the school record for wins and the team broke seven school records, including yards rushing (2528 yards), total offense (3719 yards), and fewest yards allowed (1886 yards).
