Denver Student-Athletes Participate in the 2017 Thank-A-ThonStudent-athletes call donors to thank them for contributions
May 17, 2017
DENVER - Over the course of four days, 120 University of Denver student-athletes called 1,280 Pioneer Movement Annual Fund and Endowment donors to thank them for their support of their academic and athletic endeavors. This year, the Thank-a-Thon took place over the course of four separate evenings from May 2nd through May 11th. Each night during the Thank-a-Thon, student-athletes from 17 Division I programs came together as a group and made calls to this year’s Pioneer Movement Donors. Each conversation was simply a call of appreciation to thank donors for their support during the past school year. “Every dollar given to Denver Athletics goes to use; whether it funds books and scholarships, equipment and nutrition, and so forth,” development assistant Kaley Rickert said. “Every gift touches our student-athletes and impacts their experiences and we think it is important for our student-athletes to say thank you.” The average nightly attendance of the Thank-a-Thon this year was 25 student-athletes calling 450 donors. Additionally, the men’s lacrosse team took time after their practice Wednesday evening to call all of their men’s lacrosse season ticket holders and thank them for their support this season.
