Michael Eckert was hired in the fall of 2015 to join the Sports Medicine Department at the University of Denver, where he serves as the primary athletic trainer for the men’s soccer, skiing, and men’s tennis team. Michael came to the University of Denver from the University of Maryland where he served as Assistant Athletic Trainer for men’s soccer for three years.

Michael obtained his master’s degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning from the George Washington University in 2011. In addition to his graduate work, he had a season long internship with the MLS team, D.C. United for the 2010 season.

In 2009, Michael graduated from the University of Connecticut, earning a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. At UConn he served as a student athletic trainer for the football and men’s soccer team.

Michael is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), the Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers Association (RMATA), and the Colorado Athletic Trainers Association (CATA). 

A native of Colorado, Michael currently resides in Centennial, Colorado with his wife Brydin.
