Women's Gymnastics Program Receives Award, Nine Programs Achieve Perfect Scores for 2015-16

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) unveiled its annual Academic Progress Rate report on Wednesday, with nine University of Denver Athletics programs receiving a perfect score of 1000 for the 2015-16 Academic Year. The Academic Progress Rate is a real-time measure of eligibility and retention of scholarship student-athletes competing on every Division I sports team.
Denver’s women’s gymnastics program received an NCAA APR Public Recognition Award, given by the association to program’s that finish in the Top 10 percent of all squads in that sport in multiyear Academic Progress Rates. In addition to gymnastics, the Pioneers’ men’s golf, men’s skiing, men’s swimming & diving, men’s tennis, women’s basketball, women’s skiing, women’s swimming & diving and women’s tennis programs all received perfect scores for the most recent Academic Year for which complete data is available. Furthermore, men’s basketball and women’s lacrosse both earned scores of 990 while all 17 programs received scores of 950 or higher.
In the multi-year APR index, seven DU programs earned scores of 990 or better: men’s ice hockey, men’s golf, men’s skiing, men’s swimming & diving, men’s tennis, women’s golf and women’s swimming & diving. The multi-year APR index pulls data from 2012-16.
