Pioneers, Altitude Sports Announce Expanded Partnership

Sept. 25, 2016

The University of Denver’s Division of Athletics & Recreation in partnership with Altitude Sports & Entertainment announced today that Altitude Sports will be the television home of DU Hockey and Basketball for the next three years beginning with the 2016-17 NCAA season. Altitude is currently the TV home for DU Soccer, Volleyball, Gymnastics and Lacrosse as well as several Denver-based professional teams.

“We’re very excited to be entering into this partnership with the Front Range Region’s preeminent sports broadcaster,” said Denver Sports Properties General Manager Brad Ferrell. “We feel this is a great fit for both parties given our mutual strengths. The enhanced exposure our programs will receive as a result of this partnership is tremendous for our Division as well as the University as a whole and we’re looking forward to enjoying working with Altitude for the next several years to produce high-quality broadcasts for our fans.”

The first Denver Hockey game to be televised on Altitude as part of this new partnership will be the Pioneers’ October 7 tilt against the OSU Buckeyes (puck drop – 7:30pm). Denver Basketball’s first appearance on the network will be on November 12 when the men’s team takes on Jacksonville University. Altitude is currently comprised of two channels, ALT1 and ALT2; information on how to locate each frequency can be obtained by clicking HERE.

“Altitude is thrilled to be expanding our University of Denver coverage to include one of the best college hockey programs in the country and we look forward to watching new head coach Rodney Billups lead the men’s basketball program into the future,” said President Ben Boylan.  “We are proud of our ongoing partnership with DU Athletics and welcome both programs to the Altitude family and look forward to bringing Pioneer fans many exciting games this season and seasons to come.”
