Jan. 9, 2018
ANCHORAGE – Despite it only being the first week of competition, the University of Denver’s ski team has already wrapped up an accolade with an RMISA Skier of the Week honor.
Earning the award this week was Dag Frode Trolleboe, from the men’s Nordic squad.
At the U.S. Cross Country Championships in Anchorage, the Oslo, Norway native carded a first place finish in the 15k freestyle, with a time of 38:26.9. In the sprints, the senior scored a time of 3:09.02, taking second.
Skiers of the Week are chosen using NCAA qualification points for each race. Ties are broken based on lowest combined time for the races in that discipline. Associate/non-NCAA members are not eligible. A skier can only win the award once per season.
Trolleboe and the rest of the Nordic team return to action Thursday, as part of the Montana State Invitational.
