Komsic Cards RMISA Skier of the Week

Jan. 15, 2018

HUNTSVILLE, Utah – The University of Denver’s ski team earned another RMISA Skier of the Week honor on Monday, this time on the alpine side.

After taking third in the slalom and fourth in the giant slalom this weekend, Andrea Komsic was awarded RMISA Skier of the Week for women’s alpine.

The sophomore raced for a time of 1:31.51 in the slalom, carding 34 points. In the giant slalom, the Zagreb, Croatia native skied for 2:25.34, earning 30 points.

This is the second week in-a-row that a Pioneer earned the RMISA accolade, last week Dag Frode Trolleboe took home the award for nordic.

Skiers of the Week are chosen using NCAA qualification points for each race. Ties are broken based on lowest combined time for the races in that discipline. Associate/non-NCAA members are not eligible. A skier can only win the award once per season.

To view video highlights throughout the RMISA season, check out the conference’s YouTube page
that will be updated constantly throughout the season.

Don’t forget to register for Denver’s annual Ski with the Team Day at Winter Park on January 27. Participants are encouraged to ride the Ski Train to the slopes, where they can then choose to snowshoe, snowcat or ski. The train ride, activity of choice, and food are all included in the $275 fee.
