NCAA Announces 2018 Championship Selections

INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Men’s and Women’s Skiing Committee announced on Monday the 74 men and 74 women selected to participate in the 2018 National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Skiing Championships, to be held March 7-10 at Howelsen Hill and Mount Werner in Steamboat Springs, Colo. The championships will be hosted by the University of Colorado, Boulder.  

Participants are selected on a regional basis from two designated regions for Alpine skiing (East and West Regions) and three designated regions for Nordic skiing (Central, East and West Regions). Bids are awarded to regions using a formula determined by the skiing committee. A maximum of 12 student-athletes (three per gender per discipline) may participate from an institution. 

The University of Denver will be represented by six Alpine and six Nordic skiers. Skiing for Alpine will be Tobias Kogler, Amelia Smart, Alex Leever, Andrea Komsic, Jett Seymour and Tuva Norbye. On the Nordic side, Dag Frode Trolleboe, Linn Eriksen, Eivind Kvaale, Jasmi Joensuu, Lars Hannah and Taeler McCrerey will compete.

Alpine events will run Wednesday, March 7 and Friday, March 9 at Mount Werner. Meanwhile, Nordic action will be Thursday, March 8 and Saturday, March 10 at Howelsen Hill.
