2016-17 Internationals:
Finished 12th in the 50 fly (25.73), 5th in the 100 fly (54.62), first in the 200 fly (2:01.95) at the Mel Zajac International…Finished eighth in the 200 fly (2:02.09) at the 2016 Settecolli…12th in the 100 fly at 54.70 and 16th in the 200 fly at 2:04.56 at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials.

2016-17:
Participated in 14 meets…Turned in Denver’s second best time in the 100 Fly, finishing with a 47.58 at the Summit League Championships (2/16)…Clocked in at 1:46.02 in the 200 Fly at the Summit League Championships, the top Denver time this year….Recorded the fifth-best Denver time in the 200 free this season, finishing his Summit League Championships swim in 1:37.78.

2015-16:
Reached NCAA B Standards in the 100 and 200 Fly...Helped team win 18 of 20 events at the 2016 Summit League Championships...Helped set nine Summit League Championship records.

2014-15:
Achieved NCAA Standards in 100 & 200 Butterfly...Won the 100 and 200 meter butterfly competing for Puerto Rico at the Mayaguez International Open, qualifying him for the Pan Am Games.

2012-13:
Finished second in the 200 butterfly and 10th in the 100 butterfly at the MPSF Championships (2/20/13)…Placed fourth in the 200 butterfly at the Hawkeye Invitational (11/30/12)…Finished first in the 200 butterfly at Utah (1/18/13)…Took second in the 200 butterfly and fifth in the 500 freestyle at Wyoming (1/12/13)…Registered third-place finishes in both the 1000 freestyle and the 200 butterfly at FAU (12/19/12).

Before Denver:
Swam for North Jefco Club team…Graduated from Ralston Valley H.S. in 2012…Was named Ralston Valley's MVP, first team All-Conference and third team All-State.

Born July 24, 1994 in Arvada, Colo…Son of David and Linda Torres…Chose DU due to his desire to study in the state of Colorado, the beautiful campus and his family ties to the school…Physics major…Enjoys playing the ukulele, guitar, piano, the didgeridoo, likes to play golf and go bowling…Was a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and the National Honor Society…Wants to find a good job in the field that he chooses.
