Denver Starts Record Breaking Night with A-Cut in 200 Free Relay

Pioneers' men's and women's swimmers extend streak to 14 event wins in 14 races at the 2017 Championships

2017-18 All-Summit League honors in the 200 IM, 100 back, 200 back and the 400 free relay...2016-17 All-Summit League Performer in the 400 IM and 200 back.

Part of a 400 medley relay that finished second at the CSCAA Invitational with a 3:15.00…A member of the 200 medley relay that combined for a 1:28.00 to take the top spot at the CSCAA Invitational…Part of a quartet that finished third in the 400 free relay at the CSCAA Invitational with a 2:58.99…Finished second in the CSCAA Invitational in the 100 IM with a 49.49…Earned NCAA B Standards in the 100 back (47.64), 200 back (1:45.84) and the 200 IM (1:47.91)…Took first place in 100 backstroke once, won the 200 individual medley once, won the 400 free relay three times and won the 200 medley relay once.

Participated in 14 meets…Tallied the fourth-best time on the team in the 100 free with a 44.92 at the Summit League Championship…Turned in the fourth-best 100 back time on the team this season with a 49.27 at the Summit League Championships…Third-best 200 back time for Denver this season with a 1:45.91 at the Summit League Championships…Touched in 1:49.36 in the 200 IM at the Summit League Championships, the third-best time for the Pioneers in the campaign.

Before Denver:
Swam for the Midway High School swim team...Named MVP in 2015 and 2016 for his high school team, and was also named to the All-State Team in 2015 and 2016...Swam for his club team (HEAT) from 2012-16 and was a junior national qualifier.

Son of Peter and Erica Wachtler...Has two younger brothers, David and Eric. Chose to attend Denver because liked the swim team and the coaching staff, and he can see himself being successful here.
