DENVER – The University of Denver men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs had swimmers in two major events this weekend. Recent DU graduate Kyle Robrock competed at the U.S. Open, while rising sophomore Colin Gilbert and incoming freshman Aysia Leckie both swam at the 2017 Canadian Nationals.
On Sunday, Robrock clocked in a time of 22.87 in the 50 free to finish seventh and qualify for the A-Final. Robrock nearly duplicated his time, touching the wall in 22.91 to finish eighth of 75 swimmers in the event. Earlier in the week, Robrock finished 27th in the 100 free.
Friday’s action at the Canadian Swimming Championships in Montreal saw Leckie qualify for the A-Final in the women’s 50 free, ultimately finishing 10th in the sprint swim with a 26.98.
Gilbert’s highlight of his Canadian Championships saw the rising sophomore finish sixth in the men’s 200 meter final with a time of 1:50.95.
