Farber Wins 50 Free at 2017 Junior Nationals
Rising sophomore Sid Farber takes home gold at the 2017 Speedo United States Junior National Championships

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – Sophomore Sid Farber (Portland, Ore.) won the 50 freestyle by a tenth of a second (22.89) on Saturday evening at the Speedo United States Junior National Championships at the Nassau County Aquatics Center. Earlier in the week, Farber also qualified for the A-Final in the 100 free, finishing seventh.
Farber finished second in the 50 free prelims on Saturday morning to qualify for the A-Final, but the rising sophomore improved his time by two-tenths of a second, good enough to stand at the top of the podium.
On Wednesday, Farber finished third in the 100 free prelims with a 50.63, qualifying him for the A-Finals later that night. The Denver sophomore finished seventh in the finals with a 51.35.
