Denver Announces 2017-18 Swimming and Diving Schedule
The Pioneers will have five home dates in the upcoming campaign between the two programs
Aug. 21, 2017
DENVER – The University of Denver men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs have set a challenging 2017-18 schedule, featuring five home dates, 12th-year head coach Brian Schrader announced on Monday.
Denver’s swimming programs will open the season with the Denver Relays on October 7 at El Pomar Natatorium. DU’s women’s swimming and diving team will take part in the first dual of the season when the Pioneers welcome New Mexico to the Mile High City on October 13.
DU’s action packed October continues a day later when both Denver programs head to Wyoming for a dual. Following two more dual meets the following weekend, one for each team, both programs will go to their first multi-team meets of the campaign to end the month of October. For the second-consecutive year, Denver’s women will take part in the Dual-a-Palooza, while the DU men make a return trip to the Pacific Invite.
As the fall quarter winds down, both programs will take nearly all of November off of competition before taking part in the University of Tennessee Invitational from November 30-December 2. The Pioneers will then make their annual winter training trip to Florida, capping that off with a meet at Florida Atlantic on December 20.
On the other side of the New Year, the Pioneers make a return trip to Minnesota after Denver hosted the Golden Gophers at El Pomar a year ago. Denver’s final two home dates take place on consecutive January days as both programs welcome Colorado Mines on January 19 and Utah on January 20.
The swimming and diving programs will split up in their final competitions before the Championship season begins, both heading to Air Force on different dates to end the season.
Sioux Falls, S.D., will host the 2018 Summit League Swimming and Diving Championships February 14-17.
