Farber and Andison Named Summit League Swimmers of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. (DU/Summit) – University of Denver sophomore men’s swimmer Sid Farber (Portland, Ore.) and two-time All-American Bailey Andison (Smiths Falls, Ontario) have been named the Summit League Swimmers of the Week for their performances at the 2017 University of Tennessee Fall Invitational last weekend.

  • Named Summit League Swimmer of the Week for the third time in her career, first this season
  • Broke the Denver school record, Summit League record, won the event and qualified for the 2018 NCAA Championships with a 1:54.38 in the 200 IM
  • Clocked a 4:06.10 in the 400 IM, which would have qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2017
  • Tabbed six NCAA B Standards at the Tennessee Invite – 200 IM prelims, 400 IM prelims, 100 breast prelims, 400 IM finals, 200 breast prelims, 200 breast finals

  • Collected his second career Swimmer of the Week award, second of the season
  • Swam six school and league records at the Tennessee Invite, clocking 1:17.61 in the 200 free relay, 2:52.52 in the 400 free relay, as well as 42.56 in the 100 free
  • Broke the 50 free program and league record three times Thursday (prelims/leadoff leg of relay/finals). Finished the day with a 19.23
  • Earned an NCAA A Standard in the 200 free relay
  • Clocked eight NCAA B Standards 

As a team, Denver now has 17 individual performances in the top-50 in the country this season and five relay times that have a spot in the top-25 in 2017-18.

In addition, the new CollegeSwimming.com rankings were calculated Monday, and Denver is ranked 19th in the country on the men’s side, while climbing up to 23rd this weekend on the women’s side. Both the men’s and women’s programs are ranked No. 1 in the latest CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major rankings.
