DENVER - The University of Denver men's basketball coaching staff were in attendance last Wednesday at the Coaches vs. Cancer luncheon held at Big Bill's NY Pizza restaurant. The event is part of the 9/11 Day of Giving at Big Bill's.

The event helps raise money and awareness about cancer. All proceeds go to organizations in Colorado that help aid Colorado patients and families that are fighting cancer.

All staffs from various teams -- both pro and college -- were also in attendance for the event, including the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Metro State Men's Basketball, Regis University Men's Basketball and Colorado Christian Men's Basketball.

Former Nuggets head coaches George Karl and Doug Moe were also there as well.

On Sept. 11, all food at Big Bill's is free and all they ask is for the minimum donation is what your total would have been.  People can also donate online.  Wednesday was the annual Coaches vs. Cancer event to kick it off where all the local pro and college coaches come out and show their support for the cause.
