Coach Billinger is entering his fifth season as the head coach at the University of Denver in 2018-19. Billinger joined the Pioneers in August 2012 after 10 years as a PGA golf instructor at Highlands Ranch Golf Club

Billinger had his team record their best finish at the Summit League Championship for Denver in 2017-18 under his command, taking runner-up in the three-day event. The fourth-year had man also continued to playa pivotal role in the development of Chris Korte, who earned All-Summit First Team for a third time in his four years under Billinger.

Fellow senior Jake Kelley also capped of his collegiate career nicely under Billinger, earning second-team All-Summit League honors in his final year.

In 2016-17, Billinger helped guide Korte and Petter Mikalsen to first-team All-Summit League honors. He also was instrumental in helping the Pioneers host the Inaugural Paintbrush Invitational at the Colorado Golf Club in October.

After graduating from the University of Denver in 2002, Billinger spent two seasons splitting time between the DU men's and women's golf programs, supporting both head coaches with recruiting and practice planning.

Since putting his collegiate-coaching career on hold, Billinger has served as a PGA Instructor and the owner of Billinger Golf LCC at the Highlands Ranch Golf Club, the home of Pioneer Golf. During his time at DU's home course, Billinger has mentored and instructed golfers of all levels, including high school, college and professional players. Billinger has received several prestigious awards in his industry including 2008 Colorado PGA Player of the Year and 2010 and 2012 Colorado Teacher of the Year.

Billinger's playing accomplishments include qualifying for three PGA Professional  Championships, winning the Pebble Beach Pro-Scratch twice, along with several victories locally in PGA Section events.

During his Pioneer career, Billinger was a two-time NCAA individual qualifier, a Sun Belt Conference Individual Champion (2001) and an Academic All-American (2002).

Billinger married DU alumnae Megan Billinger in 2003. Megan graduated with her MBA at DU in 2002 and played lacrosse for the Pioneers and served as the team captain. They have three children, Macy, Joey and Brooks.
