Denver Tied for Seventh After Day One of Southwestern Invitational
Korte tied for 21st after Monday's rounds

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. – The University of Denver men's golf team started solid in day one of the Southwestern Invitationa, tying for seventh after Monday’s play. The Pioneers sit at 24-over after over 27 holes.
Round two was suspended due to darkness.
No. 22 UCLA leads by four strokes over No. 41 Pepperdine before play was stopped.
“The course was a great test today as the greens are firm and fast, which requires you to hit shots and think about staying below the hole,” Billinger said. “Little bit of wind and cold and old-man par was a great score today. We have a lot of golf left and I encouraged the guys to come out focused tomorrow as we can continue to climb out the leaderboard.”
Korte was the guy for DU on Monday, tying for 21st at 4-over on his run through of the course on the day.
Sand showed no signs of being a freshman, tying for 38th at 7-over.
Both Hagen and Solem each closed out their respective days tied for 43rd at 8-over.
Petersilie wrapped up Monday tied for 61st.
The conclusion of rounds two and three will take place on Tuesday.
