Pioneers with Quick Turnaround; Ready for Tucker Invitational

DENVER – The University of Denver men’s golf team heads off to Albuquerque, N.M. for its second golf tournament this week with the William H. Tucker Invitational on Friday. The two-day event will be played at the UNM Championship South Course.

Par for the 7,556-yard course is 72.

The University of New Mexico plays host to the 17-team field, which features 12 teams ranked in the Golf Coaches Association of America’s preseason poll.

Head coach Erik Billinger is going with the lineup of Chris Korte, Jake Kelley, Eric Hagen, Isaac Petersilie and Roy Kang for the event.

Freshman John Sand will also compete in the 54-hole tournament, but as an individual.

Korte is coming off an 11th-place finish at the Ram Masters Invitational.

Kelley tied for 18th in his first tournament of the year, highlighted by a final-round 69.
