Billinger Recognized by Golf Digest

Oct. 26, 2017

DENVER – University of Denver men’s golf head coach Erik Billinger was recognized for his terrific work in teaching the game of golf. The fourth-year head coach was named by Golf Digest as one of the top teachers in the state of Colorado on Monday.

“Thanks to my peers and to Golf Digest for this award,” Billinger said. “Teaching was always a passion of mine and always will be. It’s an honor to still be included on these awards as I focus on DU and our program and the special direction we are heading. Congrats to all the other teachers selected as well as I know how hard they work to promote this special game.”

The list, which is ranked by fellow peers, had the DU head coach ranked eighth on it, a tremendous honor.

Billinger has been recognized for his great instructing before, being selected as the 2010 and 2012 Colorado PGA Teacher of Year. The Highlands Ranch native was also the 2008 Colorado PGA Player of the Year.

The Pioneers are participating in the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational from Oct. 26-28.
