2016-17: Made 11 appearances, incl. six starts (5-2-0, 1.13 GAA, .955 SV%) as a senior… One of Denver’s 16 Academic All-Conference honorees… Named NCHC Goaltender of the Week for final week of the regular season…Recorded back-to-back shutouts on Mar. 4 vs. UNO (28 saves) and Mar. 11 vs. CC (17 saves). 

2015-16: One of 20 NCAA netminders named to pre-season Mike Richter Award watch list... Earned two NCHC Goaltender of the Week Awards... Made season-high 39 saves on Jan. 22 vs. UMD (3-2 W)... Named to 2015-16 NCHC Academic All-Conference Team on Feb. 17.

2014-15: Appeared in 20 games as a sophomore, going 9-6-2… Ranked 2nd in the NCHC in shutouts (3), 3rd in SV% (.924), 4th in GAA (2.16) and 5th in W% (.588)… Recorded first career NCAA shutout on Oct. 17 vs. RPI (3-0 W)… Made career-high 43 saves on Jan. 2 at Dartmouth (1-1 T)... Earned NCHC Academic All-Conference honors.

2013-14: Received NCHC Academic All-Conference recognition for having a cumulative GPA above 3.0... In five games for the Pioneers, played 204:24 and posted a 1-2-0 record.... Faced 117 shots on goal... Finished the season with a 1.76 GAA and .949 SV%.

Before Denver: Named to NAHL All-Rookie First Team in 2012-13 after recording 22 wins, a 2.90 GAA and .900 SV% in 50 appearances with the Wichita Falls Wildcats… Honored as a participant in the inaugural All-American Prospects Game, which took place in Buffalo, NY on Sept. 29, 2013 and featured the top 40 American-born NHL prospects as selected by USA Hockey… Played in the NAHL’s annual Top Prospects Tournament where he posted a 2.21 GAA and .953 save percentage over three games… Took part in the U.S. Junior National Goaltenders Camp in June, which followed his participation in the Warren Strelow National Goaltenders Camp in Ann Arbor, Mich., in May… Appeared in 29 games with Ralston Valley High from 2010-12.

Personal: The son of Peter and Alexa Cowley… Has one sister, Megan… Attended Evergreen (Colo.) High School…  Chose Denver because of its top notch academics, coaching staff, facilities and highly-successful hockey program… Denver hockey was favorite team as a youngster and grew up attending DU games and rooting for the Pioneers… Career goal is to graduate from DU and play in the NHL… Goal this upcoming season is to win a National Championship and develop into a top NCAA goaltender… Hobbies include playing the drums and guitar… Favorite athletes are Carey Price, Kari Lehtonen, Mike Smith, Cory Schneider and Pekka Rinne.
