Plymouth, Minn. native Joe Howe was named Denver’s Director of Hockey Operations on Aug. 9, 2017 after serving two seasons as the program’s Volunteer Coach.

A three-time WCHA All-Academic Team honoree and a member of the conference’s All-Rookie Team in 2009-10, Howe appeared in 119 career NCAA games with the Colorado College Tigers from 2009-13, going 54-50-10 while recording a 2.97 GAA and .905 SV%. Prior to enrolling at CC, Howe spent two seasons (2007-09) with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL where he went 30-18-3 (2.96 GAA, .893 SV%) in 56 appearances. Howe’s father Richard and uncles Bob & Dave all skated with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the 1970s while his cousin Mike was a member of the Minnesota Golden Gophers from 2004-08 prior to playing two seasons (2008-10) of pro hockey with the Ontario Reign (ECHL).
