2016-17: Made NCAA debut and scored first career collegiate goal (also first goal of Denver’s season) on Oct. 7 vs. OSU… Registered first career multi-point game (0G-2A-2P) on Mar. 11 vs. CC... Finished freshman campaign with 5G-7A-12P (43GP).

Before Denver:
Spent the 2015-16 season with the USHL’s Madison Capitols, tallying 10G-15A-25P in 46 games played. Prior to being  acquired by Madison via a multi-player trade, the 5’9”, 165 lb. center spent two seasons (2013-15) with the Waterloo Black Hawks where he was a teammate of current Pioneer Blake Hillman (Elk River, Minn.) for a brief time. The son of longtime NHL coach Todd McLellan, Tyson totaled 20G-26A-46P in 132 career USHL games with the Capitals and Black Hawks.

Personal: Son of Todd and Debbie McLellan… Has one brother, Cale… Chose DU because of its well renowned hockey program and excellent coaching staff…Career goal is to play professional hockey in North America or Europe upon graduation… Favorite TV show is Prison Break… Favorite movie is Step Brothers… Enjoys fishing and playing baseball in his free time.
