TWO PIOS ON NHL TEAMS' RADAR HEADING INTO ENTRY DRAFT WEEKEND

June 20, 2017

The DU Hockey program’s 15-year streak of having a student-athlete selected at the NHL Entry Draft is poised to continue unabated this coming weekend in Chicago. Incoming freshmen Ian Mitchell (No. 35, North American Skaters) and Dayton Rasmussen (No. 6, North American Goalies) both appeared in the NHL Central Scouting Department’s final prospect rankings of the season and performed well at the recent NHL Draft Combine in Buffalo.

Mitchell was also ranked No. 52 overall by NHL Insider Bob McKenzie and No. 87 by TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button. He went No. 59 in Hockey News reporter Ryan Kennedy’s most recent Mock Draft.

This year’s draft will be held at the United Center on Friday, June 23 (Round 1) and Saturday, June 24 (Rounds 2-7). More information on the 2017 NHL Entry Draft can be obtained by clicking HERE. Click HERE to view the 2017 College Hockey Inc. NHL Draft Guide.
