• Denver enters this weekend after getting swept on the road for the first time since December 2015 at North Dakota

Henrik Borgström is on a seven-game point streak (9-4-13) and has six (6) goals in his last three (3) games...Troy Terry is on a five-game point streak (4-9-13)

• The Pioneers are among the most disciplined teams in the NCAA, averaging the third-fewest penalty minutes per game (8.38)

DENVER LAST SERIES 

• Denver was swept on the road at Western Michigan, falling 6-5 on Friday and 7-4 on Saturday at Lawson Arena

• Henrik Borgstrom recorded his first career hat trick before the midway point of Friday's game, but the Broncos scored two goals in the final 1:12 to come from behind and defeat the Pioneers

• Denver established a 3-0 lead early in the second period of Saturday's game, but Western Michigan pulled within one goal before the second intermission then added three (3) goals in 43 seconds less than halfway through the third period

• The Pioneers will continue conference play at home on Nov. 17-18 against the University of North Dakota

ST. CLOUD STATE SNAPSHOT

• The Huskies are on a seven-game winning streak following a weekend sweep of Minnesota Duluth that helped propel them to No. 1 in the weekly polls

• Jimmy Schuldt leads St. Cloud State with 12 points (5-7-12) in seven (7) games...Robby Jackson is on a six-game point streak (4-5-9)

• St. Cloud State has the third-best power play in the NCAA, converting on 32.4% of its chances. The Huskies' penalty kill is 11th best in the nation, converting at 88.0% 

ST. CLOUD STATE LAST SERIES

• The Huskies swept No. 8 Minnesota Duluth with a 5-3 win on Friday and a 5-0 win on Saturday

• The Huskies used three third-period and two power-play goals to defeat the Bulldogs on Friday. The teams combined for 45 penalty minutes

• St. Cloud State scored twice on the power play and once shorthanded in a 29-save shutout for Huskies goalie David Hrenak on Saturday

ST. CLOUD STATE: UP NEXT

• St. Cloud State will continue conference play with a home series on Nov. 17-18 against Colorado College

• The Pioneers took the No. 3 spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll after ranking No. 1 for six-consecutive weeks

• Denver took the No. 3 spot in the USCHO.com poll after ranking No. 1 for five-consecutive weeks

GAMBRELL MILESTONE

Dylan Gambrell reached 100 career points (33-67-100) in 85 career games on

RECORD START

• Denver's 4-0-2 record to start the season was the best in coach Jim Montgomery's five-year tenure at DU and the best for the team since the 2012-2013 season when the team opened the season with a 5-1-0 mark

BORGSTROM'S HAT TRICK

• Henrik Borgstrom recorded his first career hat trick on Friday, Nov. 3 against

Western Michigan

• The hat trick was part of his first-career four-point game

PLANT LEADING THE WAY

• Senior Adam Plant is tied with Landon Smith (Quinnipiac) for third among active

NCAA players in games played with 129. Plant and Smith trail Karson Kuhlman

(Minnesota Duluth - 132) and Austin Poganski (North Dakota - 132)

BUTCHER SETTING RECORDS

• 2017 Hobey Baker Award winner Will Butcher (New Jersey Devils) became the first player in NHL history to record at least eight (8) assists in his first five (5) career games. Butcher recorded 103 points (28-75-103) in 158 games for the Pioneers from 2013-2017

STASTNY REACHES MILESTONE

• Former Pioneer Paul Stastny (St. Louis Blues) recorded his 600th NHL point in a game against the Colorado Avalanche on Oct. 19. Stastny posted 98 points in 81 games with the Pioneers from 2004-2006

DENVER PIONEERS SUCCESS

• Denver Athletics has claimed the I-AAA Directors' Cup in nine (9) of the last 10 seasons, for the top finish in the Directors' Cup standings amongst schools without football

• The Pioneers have claimed 32 National Championships in their history (skiing - 23, men's hockey - 8, men's lacrosse - 1)

• The athletic department has 21 National Semifinal appearances, including eight (8) since 2011

• Denver's 35th place overall Directors' Cup finish in 2016-17 is the department's best in its history. DU's men's programs finished fifth in the Capital One Cup for the second time in three years

• Entering 2017-18, the Pioneers are among eight (8) athletic departments in the country to take home an NCAA title in each of the last four (4) years

PIONEERS IN THE NHL DRAFT

• The Pioneers have had at least one (1) player selected in the NHL Draft for the last 16 years. This season, Denver has five (5) prospects with Henrik Borgstrom (FLA, 2016), Dylan Gambrell (SJS, 2016), Troy Terry (ANA), Blake Hillman (CHI, 2016) and Ian Mitchell (CHI, 2017)

• Denver has three (3) players eligible for the 2018 NHL Draft: Jaako Heikkinen, Griffin Mendel and Dayton Rasmussen

• The 2018 NHL Draft is set to be held from June 22-23 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas

PIONEERS IN THE NHL

• Six (6) Pioneers were named to NHL Opening Day rosters: Tyler Bozak (Toronto Maple Leafs), Will Butcher (New Jersey Devils), Paul Stastny (St. Louis Blues), Nick Shore (Los Angeles Kings), Jason Zucker (Minnesota Wild) and Scott Mayfield (New York Islanders)

• At least one student-athlete from the last seven (7) seasons is on an NHL roster
