Denver Ranks No. 1 in Weekly Polls

DENVER -

The University of Denver Pioneers (6-2-2, NCHC 2-2-0-0) secured the No. 1 spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll and the USCHO.com polls, as released by USA Hockey and USCHO.com on Monday, Nov. 13.

Denver received 501 points and 25 of 34 first-place votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll conducted in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) with input from coaches and members of the media from each of the six (6) Division I college hockey conferences as well as officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey. 

The Pioneers earned 55 more points than No. 2 St. Cloud State University (7-2-2, 2-2-0-0) and 59 more points than No. 3 University of North Dakota (7-2-3, 2-1-1-1). Denver was previously No. 3 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll after holding the No. 1 spot for five (5) consecutive weeks.

Five (5) NCHC schools including Denver were ranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll with St. Cloud State University at No. 2 (446 points), the University of North Dakota at No. 3 (442 points), Western Michigan University (6-4-1, 3-1-0-0) at No. 14 (80 points) and the University of Minnesota Duluth (5-5-2, 1-3-0-0) at No. 15 (68 points). Colorado College (7-5-0, 3-3-0-0) received seven (7) votes. The full USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll is available here.

Denver received 992 points and 43 of 50 first-place votes in the USCHO.com weekly poll from a group of 50 Division I college coaches and members of the media. The Pioneers collected 78 more points than No. 2 St. Cloud State University and 79 more points than No. 3 University of North Dakota. Denver was previously No. 3 in the USHCO weekly poll after holding the No. 1 spot for four (4) consecutive weeks.


 

 

Five (5) NCHC schools including Denver were ranked in the USCHO.com poll with St. Cloud State University at No. 2 (914 points), the University of North Dakota at No. 3 (913 points), the University of Minnesota Duluth at No. 14 (327 points) and Western Michigan University at No. 15 (259 points). Colorado College received 49 votes and the University of Nebraska Omaha (4-3-1, 1-1-0-0) received 28 votes. The full USCHO.com poll can be viewed here.

ALUMNI GIVING CHALLENGE

The University of Denver is holding an alumni giving challenge for the 2017-2018 season in an effort to increase student-athlete alumni participation in the Denver Athletics Annual Fund. The sport with the highest percentage of alumni
