DENVER - Three-time First Team All-America selection Trevor Baptiste (Denville, N.J.) went a perfect 22-for-22 with 13 ground balls and the [5/4] University of Denver men's lacrosse team had 11 different goal scorers to run past Cleveland State 17-8 on Sunday afternoon at the 23rd-straight sellout at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.

Baptiste's perfect day was the second most faceoffs won without losing one in a single-game in NCAA Division I history. The Denville, N.J., native's 20+ faceoff win performance is the 18th of his career, including eight in the Pioneers' last 13. The Denver co-captain's faceoff total is tied for the eighth most in Denver's single-game history, giving Baptiste 11 of the top-19 faceoff win performances in Denver's record book.

For the second-consecutive week, sophomore attack Ethan Walker (Peterborough, Ontario) netted a first-half hat trick and finished with four goals and two assists. Walker's six-point day extended his active point streak to 20 games. Junior Austin French (Danville, Calif.) chipped in five points with two goals and three assists, scoring on half his shots on Sunday after leading the NCAA in shooting percentage a year ago.

Senior Colton McCaffrey (Parker, Colo.) also added three points with a goal and two assists. Classmate Joe Reid (Petaluma, Calif.) and junior Drew Supinski (Collegeville, Pa.) netted two goals each for Denver, Supinski's first two goals in a Pioneer uniform after transferring from Johns Hopkins in the offseason.

The Pioneers had 11 different goal scorers on Sunday, the first time Denver had double-digit goal scorers since April 1, 2017 against Georgetown and the 17th time under the direction of offensive coordinator Matt Brown (since 2008).

Denver had four goalies in net on Sunday, including five saves in the first half from junior Alex Ready (Lancaster, Pa.).

The Crimson and Gold opened the game on a 13-1 run in the first half, Denver's 15th 10-1 run or better in games under head coach Bill Tierney. With the win on Sunday, Denver remains tied with Albany for the second-most wins by a senior class through the third week of the season.
