Burgdorf and Cannizzaro Earn USILA Scholar All-America Honors

PERRY, N.Y. – University of Denver men’s lacrosse seniors Christian Burgdorf (Westfield, N.J.) and Connor Cannizzaro (Cazenovia, N.Y.) have both been named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Scholar All-Americans, the USILA announced this week.

The co-captains became the 16th and 17th Scholar All-America selections in program history. Denver’s graduating duo were both selected in last month’s Major League Lacrosse Draft, and both were Senior CLASS Award Finalists in 2017.

About the USILA Scholar All-America Program

In 1989 the USILA Scholar All-America Program was established to recognize student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically and as citizens of their communities. The USILA Selection Committee selects an overall team representing Division I, II and III. The Scholar All-Americas are recognized at the annual Lacrosse All-America Banquet.
