SPARKS, Md. (DU/US Lacrosse) – University of Denver men’s lacrosse faceoff specialist Trevor Baptiste (Denville, N.J.) has been named one of 49 players for a United States training team that will prepare to compete in the 2018 Federation of International Lacrosse Men’s World Championship. The selections were made following tryouts July 10-12 at US Lacrosse headquarters.

The FIL Men’s World Championship will be held in Netanya, Israel from July 12-21, 2018. National teams must cut their squad size to 23 players for the World Championships next summer.

Baptiste, Maryland’s Connor Kelly and Yale’s Ben Reeves are the only three active college players that made the 49-player cut.

The team will return to US Lacrosse for a training session over Labor Day Weekend in early September and then have two more competitions leading up to the world championship. The Team USA Fall Classic will be held at US Lacrosse on the weekend of Oct. 6-9, before the team plays in the Team USA Spring Premiere in Florida in early January.
