DENVER - The University of Denver men's lacrosse team had two former players earn spots on this week's Inside Lacrosse NLL Week 2 Three Stars of the Week, IL released on Tuesday.

First Star

Mark Matthews - Saskatchewan Rush - 6 goals - 7 assists - 13 shots - 4 loose balls
At this time of year, the old adage is it is better to give than receive. Matthews distributed seven assists in the Rush 24-11 win over New England on December 23. The former Pioneer added six goals and four loose balls to complete a game-high 13-point day. Matthews has 18 points in two games in 2018 (7-11). The Rush head to Georgia on Jan. 6.

Second Star

Jeremy Noble - Colorado Mammoth - 2 goals - 3 assists - 8 loose balls - 1 caused turnover
Colorado used a six-goal fourth-quarter run to pull away from Georgia in the Mammoth's home opener at the Pepsi Center. Noble had two of his five points in the run, but his true contribution came in creating second chances for the home team, picking up eight loose balls. The Pioneer Director of Player Personnel has 10 points in the first two games on four goals and six assists to go with nine loose balls and a caused turnover in each contest. The Mammoth will head to Calgary on Friday before beginning a three-game homestand.
