DENVER – The University of Denver Center for Sustainability will offer a free Bike Valet Parking option for all 2015 men’s soccer home matches, University Sustainability Coordinator Chad King announced on Tuesday.

DU’s purpose for providing this program is to encourage use of alternative transportation and reduce parking demand by providing free valet bike parking at events.

“The University of Denver’s commitment to sustainability has led to a 27% reduction in our carbon footprint,” King said. “Athletics is leading the way with energy and water use improvements in the Ritchie Center and a focus on zero waste events.  We hope fans join us in this effort by biking to the game, and as a side benefit, have a fun ride, miss the congestion, find close convenient parking and contribute to cleaner air in Denver.”

Fans will be able to drop their bikes off on E. Jewell just west of the covered walkway between Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium and CIBER Field, and will receive a valet ticket in exchange to use for pickup following the match. If you’re unsure on the safest routes to and from campus, stop by the bike valet for advice.
