Denver Set for Three Matches in Four Days

DENVER -

The University of Denver Pioneers (3-4, 1-1) are set to play three matches in four days, beginning with a match against Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb. at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 2.

Following their match against Nebraska, the Pioneers are scheduled to return to Denver for home matches against Illinois State on Sunday, March 4 at 12 p.m. MT and Utah State on Monday, March 5 at 11 a.m. MT.

The Pioneers enter this weekend after having had success on the No. 5 and No. 6 singles courts where the team has accumulated a combined record of 10-3. Pedro Fernandez Del Valle has played an integral role in Denver’s success on those courts with a record of 3-1 at No. 5 singles and 2-0 at No. 6 singles.

On the doubles courts, Jesse Ruder-Hook and Matt Summers have proved to be a winning combination with a 4-1 record.

Denver is 1-2 at home and 2-2 on the road this season.

ALUMNI GIVING CHALLENGE

The University of Denver is holding an alumni giving challenge for the 2017-2018 season in an effort to increase student-athlete alumni participation in the Denver Athletics Annual Fund. The sport with the highest percentage of alumni participation will receive an additional $10,000 of support through the generosity of an anonymous donor.
